No prices have been published for the 2030 Passion Play. The most reliable guide is what the 2022 season cost, because the category structure and the way tickets are sold have stayed consistent across cycles. This page sets out those reference figures and explains what actually drives the total cost of a trip.
Short answer
In 2022, performance tickets ranged from roughly €30 in the rear categories to around €180 in the best seats. Complete arrangements including accommodation started well above that. For 2030, expect an increase in line with general cost development — but treat any figure quoted today as an estimate, not a price.
What a ticket cost in 2022
The auditorium is divided into categories, and the spread between the cheapest and the most expensive seat is wide. The rear and side blocks sat around €30 to €60; the central blocks with the best sightlines reached roughly €180. Those were prices for the performance alone, without accommodation, meals or transfers.
Two things follow from that spread. First, a ticket price on its own tells you very little about what a trip costs. Second, the cheapest categories are not the bargain they appear to be — they are also the ones that sell out first, because they are what individual travellers buy when the final release phase opens.
Why ticket price is the smaller part of the number
For a group travelling from outside Germany, the performance ticket is rarely the largest line in the budget. Accommodation during a Passion Play season is scarce and priced accordingly. Add transfers, meals around an eight-hour performance day, and usually two or three nights elsewhere in Bavaria, and the ticket becomes a modest share of the total.
This is why we quote packages rather than tickets. A price that covers only the seat invites a comparison that does not survive contact with reality.
What our packages cost
Our 2030 arrangements start at €909 per person for the one-night package and €1,286 for two nights. Those figures include the performance ticket, accommodation, dinner and breakfast. What changes the price from there is the hotel category, the accommodation zone and the room type.

If you are deciding between the two package lengths rather than looking up a figure, the practical differences matter more than the price gap — the play ends late at night, and where your group sleeps afterwards shapes the whole day.

We quote these on request rather than publishing them, because they vary too much by group to be useful as a list price.
How to budget for a group
A workable approach is to build from the package rate rather than from the ticket. Take the per-person package figure for the category and zone you want, add transfers, then add whatever the rest of the itinerary requires. That gives a number you can present to a client without a caveat attached.
Working the other way — starting from an assumed ticket price and adding accommodation later — reliably produces a figure that has to be revised upwards, usually after the client has already seen it.
What we expect prices to do before 2030
We do not publish forecasts, and neither should anyone else with confidence. What can be said is that across the 2000, 2010 and 2022 cycles, arrangement prices rose between seasons, and that the components driving the cost — accommodation, staffing, transport — have not become cheaper.
The practical consequence is not that prices will spike, but that early commitment tends to secure both a better date and a rate that is fixed at the time of confirmation rather than at the time of travel.

Frequently asked questions
Why can I not just buy the cheapest ticket?
You can, in the final public release phase, if any remain. Through an operator allocation the categories offered are the higher ones, because those are what is contracted with accommodation attached.
Is a two-night package twice the price?
No. The second night adds accommodation and meals but not a second ticket, so the increase is smaller than the package names suggest.
When do I have to pay?
A deposit is invoiced once an allocation is confirmed; the balance follows on a schedule. See booking terms for the deposit percentage and deadlines.
Are prices per person or per room?
Per person, based on two people sharing. Single occupancy is quoted separately because it consumes a room from the same finite allocation.
